My second time shooting at West Coast Park and third time shooting frisbee.
Weather
Both of the days were very sunny with strong winds or oceans brezze as the field was very close to the water. It was quite cool to see the clouds moving slowly but surely through the sky.
The wind surely did some cool stuff with the frisbee like when one player threw the fribee out field it flew back in to fleid and out the other side.
The sun was hotter then anything I fer so far this year as I did try to catch the sun rise on the 1st of January 2015 but only had a strong overcast of clouds. I suspect that Singapore is going to have the same hot and dusty landscape with no rain for the first few months of 2015 just like back in 2014.
The Game
To tell you the truth I know nuts about ultimate fribee but I really like the action. Eg went a player dive for the fribee in game terms the player call it a layout I call it superman hahaha because they dive in such a way that sometimes their bodys straighten into such a way that it almost looks like they are flying a few feet off the ground.
Slowly but surely I will learn the rule and gameplay of ultimate fribee thanks to the photographer and players I get to know over the period of time shooting the sport
Most notable fribee photographer would be Eric Lim (http://elinwerx.blogspot.sg). He teach me to see the beauty in fribee and went I can anticipate the peak action in the game.
Location
Well West Coast Park is one of those parks that has no to little development as in there is only one Mac serving the whole park. There seem that the is no other option for food or drinks beside Mac and not to say I'm the most health conscious but most of the people who use the park regularly surely would want a healthier food option after thief jog or time playing with the kids. While at this topic I would like to say if Smrt could spare a few more buses for the 176 route As it seems when I missed one of the bus I had to wait for about 15mimus for the next one to arrive. I know I complain a lot about it but I mean in terms of the player after a long day of actively. They would want to get home quick to wash up and do other thing instead of just sitting and waiting for the bus. I just hope more development can happen on the west coast park stretch
Gear.
On the first day I only had a simple set up in terms of equipment. I use the Nikon D4s coupled with the Nikkor 70-200mm f2.8 VRII Lens that I cramped into a shoulder carry camera bag. But the 70-200mm range was slightly too short for my needs so on the second day I brought the Nikon D4s coupled with Nikkor 300mm f4 lens and a Nikon D800E with the Nikkor 105 Marco f2.8 Lens with x2 teleconverter in my ThinkTank Airport Security luggage bag. I was slightly less mobile on the second day because of the my bag but I was able to capture the action as I placed myself in the middle of 4 game fields.
There were some disadvantage to that plan as when I was focus on field A, field B would have a superman and I was not fast enough to capture the flight.
Overall.
Overall it was a great time shooting
